York's Favourite Ice Cream
12:58pm 27th February 2013
York ice cream manufacturer Yorvale has announced the winner in its ‘Big Flavour' competition.
Appropriately for an ice cream inspired by Yorkshire, the winning flavour, voted for by members of the public, was Yorkshire Rhubarb and Ginger. The flavour was one of four that were shortlisted and was suggested by both Marie Mosely from Copmanthorpe and Sally Trousdale from York.
The competition attracted a record number of entries and Rhubarb and Ginger gained over half of the votes, followed by Chocolate Orange, Cinder Toffee & Apple and Yorkshire Lavender & Honey.
The winners will be invited to the farm based business to help create their ice cream later in the year and it will be available from Yorkshire farm shops and independent retailers in the summer.
