Free Loft Insulation for People in Malton Thirsk and Helmsley
1:39pm 25th February 2013
The ‘Wrapping up Yorkshire’ scheme, offering free home insulation to residents living in the Ryedale area, has almost reached its funding limit - with capacity for only 30* more properties in this area.
Subject to a free no-obligation home survey, residents can still claim free loft and cavity wall insulation for their homes – but for a short time only. The scheme is open to all private homeowners in Ryedale, including landlords.
The scheme, funded by national energy providers, has been hugely successful, says Councillor Mrs Linda Cowling, Leader of Ryedale District Council:
“The success of the Wrapping up Yorkshire scheme has meant the opportunity for reduced fuel bills and improved health for those most susceptible to illnesses as a result of cold homes. We’re now urging residents to take up the offer before the money completely runs out. Anyone who is interested needs to get in touch with Yorkshire Energy Partnership as soon as possible, by calling 01904 545 020 and quoting ‘Wrapping up Yorkshire.”
This scheme is offered to all residents in the Ryedale area – with no criteria regarding age group or income benefits.
According to the Energy Saving Trust, a house can lose up to 60 per cent of its heating through its walls and roof – and insulation can help householders save up to £310* per year on their energy bills.
For more information or to claim your FREE insulation, call Yorkshire Energy Partnership on 01904 545 020 quoting ‘Wrapping up Yorkshire or visit www.yorkshireenergypartnership.org.uk/advice to apply online.
