800 New Science Jobs for Sand Hutton Discussed

800 new science jobs could be on the way for Sand Hutton.
The Food and Environment Research Agency centre is opening it's site to private companies which could see 1,600 people working there.
It's hoped the area could develop into an internationally known facility for food sciences.
Julian Rudd from Ryedale Council says the impact will be felt across North Yorkshire.
It adds there could be a multi million pound boost to the Ryedale economy from the project which it describes as a unique facility, which could become a campus for bioscience and food science.
But the junction to the site at Sand Hutton on the A64 would have to be upgraded to deal with the additional staff forecast at the site, although the district council told Minster FM it doubts the scheme would allow a dualling of the A64 in the area.
