3:38pm 14th February 2013

Selby police are investigating after an expensive lawnmower was stolen from a local bowling club.

The green Dennis mower was taken after a secure container was broken into at North Duffield Bowling Club, York Road, on the evening of Friday 8 February 2013.

It is believed that the offenders had damaged the container while making an unsuccessful attempt to access it the previous night.

The mower, which is worth £3,000, has a Peter Wright Crockey Hill Lawnmowers sticker on the side.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, to get in touch.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Tom Jordan or Selby police.

If you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
