Cards and Envelopes Boost to Recycling in Thirsk and Easingwold

3:29pm 11th February 2013

Householders across Hambleton and Richmondshire are being urged to recycle more in their blue recycling bags.

Greetings cards and window envelopes can now be placed in the blue bags collected through the district councils’ kerbside collections.

Householders can now put the following into the blue bags: newspapers, magazines, catalogues, brochures, leaflets, junk mail, office paper, shredded paper, all envelopes, greetings cards, yellow pages and telephone directories.

They cannot be used for cardboard, tissue paper, plastic wrappers and paper based drink cartons.

Blue bags can be collected from Richmondshire community offices in Richmond,  Colburn, Reeth, Hawes and Leyburn and from Hambleton District Council Offices in Northallerton, Stokesley and Easingwold.  For further information contact Hambleton on 0845 1211 555 or Richmondshire on 01748 829100

All types of cardboard can be put in the brown cardboard recycling skips at the large recycling sites in Richmondshire,  the mixed paper and card banks at the village sites throughout Hambleton and Richmondshire and in the cardboard recycling skips at the Household Waste Recycling Centres situated across the two area.
