Heating Help for Homeowners in Malton and Ryedale
3:16pm 11th February 2013
Ryedale District Council is working with North Yorkshire County Council and various voluntary organizations to offer free boiler servicing and repairs for any householders who are on certain benefits and over 75 in the Ryedale area.
The Warmer Together Project, which only lasts until 31st March 2013, aims to tackle fuel poverty by saving up to £310* on their increasing energy bills and keep the cold at bay in these colder winter months.
Subject to certain eligibility criteria householders may be eligible for the free service, on a first-come first-served basis.
Cllr Linda Cowling , Leader of Ryedale District Council is hoping the scheme will help to reduce fuel bills and improve the health of Ryedale families:
“The service offered will mean that the vulnerable residents of Ryedale can ensure that the heating systems are working safely to their maximum efficiency, control the heat within the property more effectively and therefore save money on fuel bills. “
The scheme expires on 31st March 2012, we’re therefore urging people who are interested to get in touch as soon as possible by calling the White Rose Home Improvement Agency which is implementing this scheme on 01723 232527 and quoting ‘Warmer Together Project.”
