York Police Investigate Barn Fire

York police are appealing for information following an arson attack on a barn near the city.
It started in the early hours of Wednesday 23 January 2013, at a farm on the B1363, Sutton Road, Wigginton, and is being investigated jointly with the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
As a result of the fire, the barn and contents were completely destroyed causing around £100,000 worth of damage.
PC Ruth Atkins, of Clifton Moor Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you were in the area at the time of the fire and saw anyone acting in a suspicious manner I urge you to contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.
“I also need to speak to people who have any information about those responsible for this arson attack and ask them to get in touch.”
