Three Year Old Girl Refused Toilet by York Store
6:00am 8th February 2013
A mum from Acomb has been left angry after a York store wouldn't let her three year old daughter use their toilets.
Keira Relton took her daughter for an opticians appointment at Specsavers in Acomb when the little girl needed to go.
The public toilets were closed and the store refused to let Keira take her daughter to the staff loo.
Keira contacted Minster FM saying the situation was unfair.
We contacted Specsavers who say the manager decided that using their toilets wouldn't be safe.
But Minster FM got Keira an apology.
Stephen McEnaney, Acomb Specsavers store director, said:
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to the Relton family on Tuesday 5th February in the Specsavers Acomb store.
“Due to the location and layout of the staff facilities at the store, the store manager used her discretion and decided it wouldn't be safe for the toilets to be used.”
