Pubs to Mark 800 Years of York
8:00am 8th February 2013
To continue the work of York 800, City of York Council’s York Stories 2012 project is going into the pubs and bars of York to capture tales, stories and memories of people at some of York’s historic drinking spots.
Anyone with a story to tell, memories and anecdotes to share or who loves to listen to stories, can join the Ales & Tales host and local storyteller Adrian Spendlow who will help to bring these stories and characters to life.
Councillor Sonja Crisp, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism said: “All the stories will go towards the York Stories 2012 community project, which aims to encourage people to tell and share stories that are personal and unique to the city of York.
“These contributions to York Stories 2012 will be showcased online at www.yorkstories2012.com and go towards a unique social media collection for the city archives. Do go along for a fascinating encounter.”
