Plans to Turn Off Street Lights in Thirsk and Easingwold Discussed
6:41am 7th February 2013
Plans to turn off some street lights in Easingwold and Thirsk in the early hours have been examined.
Hambleton Council is looking at joining a county council scheme which it says would save it more than 30-thousand pounds.
Now one option is for parish councils to take over the street lights if people feel they want them kept on all night.
But Diane Gallon from Easingwold Town Council says it would be tough for them to find the money to do that.
The district council's cabinet will look at the proposals on Tuesday.
