£2,800 of Goods Stolen from Helmsley Warehouse

Police are appealing for information following the theft of gas canisters and wire fencing from a warehouse in Helmsley.

Between 5pm on Monday 4and 8am on Tuesday 5 February 2013, thieves broke into the BATA warehouse on Sawmill Lane and stole around £2,800 worth of goods.

The stolen goods include 6 rolls of barbed wire, merchant wire, rabbit netting and propane gas canisters.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious overnight to contact them.

PC Andy Rogers of Ryedale Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The thieves will have needed a vehicle to transport the goods and I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, including vehicles or people, or noticed anything unusual in the area of Sawmill Lane, to please get in touch.

“Also, anyone who is offered goods of this nature for sale from anyone other than a legitimate retailer is asked to contact the police without delay.”
