Budget Consultation for Businesses in York
1:18pm 5th February 2013
In 2012, the council set a two year budget for the period 2012-14. This was, they say to create some certainty and stability when faced with the most difficult financial challenge of a generation and to enable the council to give a long-term commitment to growing York's economy and creating a fairer city for all.
In December last year, the City of York council says it gained confirmation of further cuts from central government of over £9 million in 2013/14 and £12 million in 2014/15. The Council says it is now finalising its 2014/15 budget, which is focused on investing in jobs and growth in York's economy; protecting vulnerable people and tackling poverty; and developing modern and efficient delivery processes as an organisation.
They are asking business people in the city to join them to discussion, the budget setting process and the challenges and opportunities they face in delivering the budget for 2014/15. City of York council say they would like to hear your views and ideas, concerns and priorities throughout this budget setting process.
If you can't make the meeting, you can email the council at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can tweet them @CityofYork or find them on facebook by searching: City of York Council.
