Police Search For Wanted York Man
1:12pm 30th January 2013
Police hunting for a wanted man in York are appealing to the public to report any sightings of him.
Kyle Illingworth, aged 22, of Cornlands Road, is wanted for recall to prison after breaching the terms of his release licence on several occasions say North Yorkshire Police.
Officers report that Illingworth was released in September 2012 after serving two years in prison for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Since his release, say police, Illingworth is suspected of being involved in a number of offences including criminal damage, common assault, public order and failing to answer police bail.
He has also failed to attend appointments with his supervising officer at the Probation Service, according to North Yorkshire Police.
Officers, who have been making enquiries in York to try and trace Illingworth, say they are now urging the public to help locate him.
Inspector Dave Kirby, of York police, said: “Being released from prison on licence means that offenders must behave themselves when they return to the community or they face an immediate return to custody.
“Kyle Illingworth is well aware of this, yet he has been involved in further offences since his release and he must face the consequences.
“I am appealing to the public to keep their eyes peeled and contact the police or Crimestoppers if they see Illingworth or know where he is.”
Polics say anyone who can help to locate Kyle Illingworth is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
They add that if you do not wish to contact the police directly, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
