Police in Selby are investigating after a horse exercise cart was stolen during a burglary at a rural stable block.

Officers say the black cart, which has a red seat, was taken from the stables on School Road, Hemingbrough, sometime between 6.40pm on Friday 18 January and 11am on Saturday 19 January 2013. Police say it's valued at around £250.

Also taken during the burglary was a red Honda petrol strimmer and a green Norlet petrol chainsaw, say Selby police.

Officers are appealing to anyone with information about the burglary or has been offered the items for sale, to get in touch.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Heather Wilkinson or Selby police.

If you wish to remain anonymous, say police, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
