York Counts the Financial Cost of the Tour de France
7:55am 18th January 2013
After yesterday's celebrations, this morning the calculators are working out the cost of Yorkshire's Tour de France bid.
The City of York Council believes Yorkshire could get a 100-million pound economic boost from the cycling event.
But the MP for York Outer is hoping UK Sport will put some lottery funding into picking up the bill for hosting the Tour.
Julian Sturdy has met with Culture Minister Maria Miller over the issue.
The Tour won't be coming to Thirsk - Malton or Pickering - but MP for the towns Anne McIntosh says they might not lose out.
