York Pubs Could Pay For Drink Related
6:00am 19th January 2013
Pubs in York might have to pay for drink related violence in the city.
If fights occur within 25 meters of a bar, the City Council wants to impose a levy on the licensed premises.
Figures show violent crime around pubs and clubs has gone down by 14 % in the last 12 months with only 34 incidents in the city.
Lee Le Clerk Regional Secretary for the British Beer and Pub Association doesn't think the City needs a levy.
