Plans to Turn Off Street Lights in Thirsk and Easingwold Discussed

Plans to turn off some street lights in the early hours in Easingwold and Thirsk will be discussed this morning.
Hambleton Council reckons it would save more than 24-thousand pounds a year by turning some lights off after midnight.
North Yorkshire County Council is already rolling out a similar plan.
Brian Philips from Hambleton Council says it doesn't seem to have led to a rise in crime.
