The Face Of Homelessness is Changing in York

6:01am 28th December 2012

Anyone can be made homeless - that's according to a York charity.

The York Arc Light Hostel says more and more people are being forced on to the streets.

Spiralling debt can lead to tenants and homeowners being evicted, and finding themselves without a home, says York Arc Light.

They work in the city, taking referrals from the Salvation Army, in an attempt to help get homeless men and women back into work and back into their own home.

York Arc Light says it's after a rise in redundancies, debt and broken relationships which lead many to now call the streets home.

The charity provides housing for 38 people in 35 rooms in a city centre facility.

You can help York Arc Light by making a donation online at justgiving.com/arclight.Or if you would like to find out about volunteering opportunities you can email Arc Light at volunteer.admin@york-arclight.co.uk.
