Third of North Yorkshire Schools Face £7 Million Cuts
1:44pm 19th December 2012
A decision's being taken this afternoon which will leave a third of schools in North Yorkshire with less money.
Almost half of pupils in the county will be affected with their schools losing around £7 million.
The county council says it's having to bring in the measures because of changes to how they're funded by the Department for Education.
The government says it will look at the funding issue next year after the new funding formula is brought in - a decision the council calls "perverse".
