People in Pocklington Warned After Attempted Pickpocketing

Police in Pocklington are warning people to be alert after an attempted pickpocketing in Market Place.
It happened at around 3pm on Thursday 13th December.
An elderly lady walking up the steps into a shop found herself standing between two women, who are both white 5'6" tall and of medium build.
One was aged about 50 years old and wearing a black woollen hat and black clothes.
The other was about 18 years old and was wearing a brown hat and brown clothes.
The older woman managed to unzip her purse and put her hand inside, the women than ran off across the road towards Barclays bank.
Nothing was stolen but the victim was left distressed by the incident.
