Swift Justice in North Yorkshire's drink drive campaign
5:54am 10th December 2009
Just eight days after being stopped and breatherlised, the first motorist charged under this year's drink-drive campaign in North Yorkshire is up in court.
The 56 year old man, from the Batley area in West Yorkshire, was stopped whilst driving through Tadcaster.
The man is yet to be named, has been fast tracked through the system to show the force is taking a zero tolerance approach to drink and drug driving.
It's means all offenders risk losing their licence in time for Christmas.
This morning the case is being dealt with at Selby Magistrates.
