Officers from British Transport Police have released a photograph of a man they would like to speak to following an incident on board a train as it travelled between Northallerton and York on Saturday, 24 November at approximately 6.30pm.

Police Constable Harry Thompson, investigating officer, said: “A lady from Northallerton was travelling with her 5-year-old granddaughter on the 17.19 Sunderland to London Kings Cross service, when a heavily intoxicated man wearing a Sunderland football shirt began using abusive language. When the victim asked him to stop, he continued swearing and using unacceptable language directed at her.”
