York Police Release CCTV Image after £1,000 Stolen from Shopper

York police have released an CCTV image of a man they want to trace after £1,000 was stolen from a shopper.
It was stolen at around 11.50am on Wednesday 20 June 2012. A woman had withdrawn the cash from Barclays on Parliament Street. A short time later, when she was in a shop, she realised the money was missing.
The victim had seen the man caught on CCTV in both the bank and the shop a few minutes before she discovered the money was missing.
The man officers are trying to trace is white with a medium build and short dark hair.
PC Frances Myers, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If this is you featured on CCTV and you are not responsible for the theft, I urge you to get in touch with the police immediately so that you can be eliminated from my enquiries.
“I also need to speak to anyone else who can identify the man and ask that they get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”
