York's public services have been praised by a new report.

The Oneplace website found the city's authorities work well together to meet local needs.

Improved public health, a drop in crime and a greener city - just some of the improvements people in York have seen in the last year.

York's one of only a few areas in the country that's been praised for it's services for disabled children.

Elsewhere Selby District Council has been named one of the top performing authorities in the country.

The Audit Commission has scored three out of four for both managing performance and use of resources.

Their recycling and waste services were highlighted, and the council say they still need your help to reduce the amount they send to landfill.
