York and Malton Open For Business
12:00pm 29th November 2012
York and Malton are open for Business.
Visit York say that shops, bars and restaurants in the city are still open, and that flooding is restricted to riverside properties and businesses.
Gillian Cruddas from Visit York says some businesses by the riverside are affected, but the city as a whole is coping.
Minster FM spoke to the staff at Streamline Taxis, who told us they are used to the floods.
Malton has also been hit by the recent flooding and traders there are still open for business but say that things are slow.
Sophie Legard owns the Malton Relish, she tells Minster Fm that the town centre is fine as it sits on a hill and that the riverside area is the only part of town that's affected.
The Malton Christmas Lights Switch-on is still going ahead today from 3.30 till 7.00 with Minster FM.
