North Yorkshires Wildlife Under Threat Due To Floods

Malton Flood (Aaron Clarke) 281112 6

1:18pm 28th November 2012

Wildlife in Yorkshire is suffering from the floods.

Hedgehogs, and owls are just two species that are particularly affected.

Owls are struggling to find food and hedgehogs are unable to hibernate because of the excess water.

Annette Pyre from Selby Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation says she's had an influx of rescue animals.

Annette is appealing for indoor cages, dog food and blankets. You can drop them off at the Selby Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre or Annette will collect the cages from you.

You can contact Annette on Tel: 07803 180720 or 01757 290459 or visit the centre at

York Road,

North Yorkshire
