Wanted Thirsk Man Arrested
1:48pm 13th November 2012
The hunt for wanted Thirsk man Joshua Sargent has come to an end.
Officers say that the 20-year-old was arrested on Monday 12th November 2012 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and is currently in police custody.
North Yorkshire police say he is due to be transferred back to prison.
Inspector Mark Gee, of Hambleton and Richmondshire Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Joshua Sargent believed he could continue to make a mockery of the justice system and evade his due punishment by flouting the terms of his prison release licence. This was clearly not the case.
“The fact that Sargent is now back in custody to serve the remainder of his sentence for robbery, shows that North Yorkshire Police will never stop hunting for those people who blight our communities and deserve to be behind bars.”
Insp Gee added: “I would like to thank the media and members of the public who assisted us throughout the search for Sargent. It is vital that police and the public work together to bring offenders to justice, reduce crime and improve the quality of life for us all.”
