Kids in York are Being Challenged to get Building with Junk!

6:01am 28th October 2012
Using things from around the house, City of York Council's Zero Waste York and Junkcraft books want children to build either a space-ship, plane or a hotrod racing car.
City of York Council’s Zero Waste York, in partnership with local publisher, Junkcraft Books, is running the competition for Key Stage 2 children where all entries must be made from recycled items found around the home.
They're asking kids to 'get building', as they say the best creations will be in with a chance of winning great construction set prizes by Meccano, plus a Super Construction Set prize for their school.
Cllr David Levene, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, said: "This competition is a great way of educating children on how simple household items can be reused in a fun and creative way."
City of York Council say children have until February 8th 2013 to submit their entries, and to enter upload a digital photograph of the finished creation with a short description to the competition page at www.junkcraft.com.
Full competition details and entry requirements can be found on http://www.junkcraft.com/york-schools-competition/.
