Fuel thieves in the Selby area got away empty handed after a police operation recoverd the stolen diesel.
Officers were alerted to suspicious activity in a lay-by on the A1 near Kirk Smeaton,
When police arrived at the scene, the suspects ran off across nearby fields l
Officers seized ten 25 litre containers full of stolen diesel, which were found inside a vehicle.
