The RSPCA in York are appealing for volunteers to help with the potential evacuation and housing of dogs from their Landing Lane site as it's currently under 2 feet of water.

They're asking anyone who can help to email them on reception@RSPCAyorkhome.org.uk

The Highways Agency is urging lorry drivers to stick to official diversions following flooding across North Yorkshire...

It's as they're working to clear roads affected by yesterday's rain.

There are still 33 flood warnings in place in the North East and flooding continues to cause problems in North Yorkshire.

Earlier Tadcaster narrowly avoided a disaster. Structural engineers managed to secure the main bridge there, amid fears it could collapse as the River Wharfe broke it's banks.

Iain Spittal, the Assistant Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Police says record levels of water have been recorded.
