15 year old A19 Crash Victim Named

The 15 year old girl, who died in a crash on the A19 on Monday, has now been named.

She was Carly Smith from Selby.

A 30 year old man, who was also seriously injured in the collision, remains in a critical condition at Pinderfields Hospital.

Statement from North Yorkshire Police

We are now able to release the identity of the girl who died as a result of a road traffic collision which occurred at 8.15pm on Monday 13th August 2012, on the A19 between Chapel Haddlesey and Burn.

She was Carly Smith, aged 15 and from Selby.

The inquest was opened and adjourned today (Thursday 16th August 2012) in Selby.

The 30 year old man who was seriously injured as a result of the collision remains in Pinderfields hospital in a critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, press option 2 and ask for Martin Hayes.
