First time offender rates drop in York

The number of first time young offenders in York fell by 25% last year.
That's according to new figures from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
The stats show the number of 10 to 17 year olds receiving their first reprimand, warning or conviction fell from 390 in 2008 to 292 in 2009.
Nationally the number of first time young offenders dropped by 21.6%.
