The great gallop and the walk both go under starter’s orders opposite the race course stands to raise funds for services to help people with dementia and carers.

A line-up of pantomime horses will take part in the race being run alongside the Memory Walk – which anyone can sign up for at memorywalk.org.uk

Alzheimer’s Society community fundraiser Julie Lee said:

‘We are looking for businesses to back a winner by taking part in the big race.

‘It will be great to watch – it’s quite a challenge to run in full costume and stay in a straight line, so all bets are off!’

Walkers will be able to watch the race for which the businesses taking part will pay an entry fee and each be supplied with a nags head – and legs.

Any businesses wishing to join the line-up adorned in their own livery can call Community fundraiser Ju Lee 01904 633599, or email ju.lee@alzheimers.org.uk
