A motorist has been airlifted to hospital after a crash on the A19.
It happened this afternoon (Tuesday 8th August 2012) near Shipton by Benningborough just after 2pm.
A Vauxhall Marreva and a Rover collided.
It's the driver of the Rover who's been rushed to Leeds general Infirmary.

Witness appeal following serious collision on the A19 near York
Police are appealing for a vital witness following a serious traffic collision on the A19 near Shipton-by Benningbrough, in the York area.
The collision, which occurred two miles north of the village at 2pm today (Tuesday 7th August 2012), involved a silver Rover 45 which was travelling towards York and a black Vauxhall Meriva heading towards Easingwold.
A 57 year old man from York, who was driving the Rover, suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary where he currently being treated.
The occupants in Vauxhall, a man, woman and two children, were taken to York District Hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic Sergeant Hamish Halloway, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said:
“If you witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, I urge you to contact the police as soon as possible.
“I am particularly keen to speak with the driver of a white van which was following the Rover shortly before the collision. I believe that he or she may have vital information to assist the investigation.”
The road currently remains closed and is likely to be for some time. Local diversions are in place while police investigate the scene and the vehicles are recovered.
