Investigation launched after the sudden death of a 10 year old

North Yorkshire Police force is investigating the sudden death of a boy in Norton.

Along with the ambulance service they rushed to the address and made attempts to revive the 10 year old - who hasn't been named.

Sadly he was pronounced dead.

The force say at the moment their aren't any suspicious circumstances surrounding it but they are preparing a report for the coroner.

North Yorkshire Police Statement:

North Yorkshire Police were called to an address in Norton, near Malton, at 8.30am on 17 July 2012 regarding the sudden death of a 10-year-old boy.

Ambulance staff made attempts to revive the boy but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A report is being prepared on behalf of the coroner.

We are not in a position to identify the boy at this time.
