Man killed after being struck by a train

A man's died after being struck by a train at Scarborough station.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit at 3.30pm this afternoon (Friday 13th July 2012).

Police are trying to identify him and contact his family.

Train services on First TransPennine Express are now back to normal after earlier disruption.

Trains between Scarborough and Malton were temporarily halted, but services resumed by 4.20pm.
 
The incident is being investigated by British Transport Police.
