York does Vintage
12:00am 24th June 2012
Established in March 2011 York Does Vintage is a truly fantastic, sparkling shopping event bringing you gorgeous vintage goodies, gems and bargains, a bustling vintage tearoom, with plenty more to get involved in! York Does Vintage is not just a fair - but a crazy, bustling, vibrant event for both the young and old!
What with the Jubilee and Olympics this summer, what's better than a real British day out?! Think strawberry's and cream, Union jacks, competitions and much much more! We're proud to be British - are you?
For 2012 we have taken York Does Vintage over to the grade 1 listed and scheduled ancient monument (drum roll please....) The (spectacular) Merchant Adventurers Hall of York. We couldn't think of anywhere better to capture and celebrate fashion and trends from yesteryear than in this truly gorgeous, history infused, stunning timber framed Hall - featured in the top attractions York has to offer on Trip Advisor!
York Does Vintage's June 24th fair will be offering various free workshops including their infamous bunting making stall. As well as workshops you can shop at the impressive array of stalls, enjoy strawberries and cream in the tearoom, get made up at the beauty parlour, have a rest in the mini vintage cinema or give Lindy Hop dancing, with Pure Lindy a whirl!
To top it all York Does Vintage are running a Best Dressed competition, if you dress to reflect the years gone by you could win yourself a holiday for 2 to Sheringham Cottages Self Catering Holiday Homes on the North Norfolk Coast!
There really is no need to look any further for the best vintage day out around, as bargains start as soon as you step through the creaky 1300's door, with a very affordable £1 entry, plus you will be helping us once again support 2 very worthy local charities - The Alzheimer's Society and SNAPPY's children charity.
We look forward to seeing you there!
