Ongoing collision – A64 between Grimston and Hopgrove roundabouts

North Yorkshire Police were called to a collision on the A64 between Grimston and Hopgrove roundabouts at around 11.55am on Monday 11 June 2012.

The initial collision involved a wagon and a Peugeot car which then clipped a passing bus. The female driver of the Peugeot was taken to York District Hospital. At this stage the severity of her injuries is unknown.

The lorry driver was uninjured. The bus, which contained a number of children, sustained minor damage. It is not believed any of the children were injured, however they will be checked to ensure that no injuries have been sustained.

The fire service extracted the injured woman from her vehicle.

All vehicles were travelling east-bound and police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact them on 101.

One lane of the east-bound carriageway is currently closed while the vehicles are recovered.
