York 800 Adult Learners Week

York city council

12:01am 15th May 2012

Adults across the city are being asked to try something new as part of City of York Council's York 800 Adult Learners week, starting on 12th May 2012.

The week, which runs alongside national Adult Learners' Week, will give residents the chance to get involved in a wide range of activities, including how to connect to the internet to view their family history, and a master class in creative digital photography with flowers.

Cllr Sonja Crisp, Cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion, said:

"York 800 Adult learners Week is a brilliant opportunity for people to expand their horizons and try something new and engaging. We hope the week will celebrate, inspire and engage adult learners across the city."

The council's five key priorities for 2011-2015 are:
"    Create jobs and grow the economy
"    Get York moving
"    Build strong communities
"    Protect vulnerable people
"    Protect the environment
