Pushed and punched to the floor in Pocklington

Humberside Police Statement:
A 30-year-old Pocklington man required hospital treatment after being the victim of an assault in Market Street, Pocklington.
The incident happened at approximately 0145hrs on Saturday 05 May outside the Flying Man public house in the town.
The victim was smoking a cigarette in the street when a man approached and pulled his woolly hat from his head.
The victim finished his cigarette and went to retrieve his hat at which point the suspect is alleged to have pushed him and then punched him to the face causing him to fall to the ground.
The victim sustained a chipped tooth and three of his bottom teeth came loose. He also suffered grazing to the eye and face, grazing to the shoulder and swelling to the nose.
He was taken to York District Hospital where he was treated and released.
Police are keen to trace witnesses to the assault and believe a number of people were in the area at the time of the offence.
