The recession is being blamed for the increase in incidents of domestic abuse in North Yorkshire.
Thats from Assistant Cheif Constable Sue Cross - shes launching a strategy to deal with the issue in York later.
Stats show since April 2008 there have been a month on month increase in domestic incidents reported to the county's force.
The police have revealed a new 5 year plan of how they are working together with other agncies to get the support out to victims earlier.
They are also looking at how to deal with offenders.
