York residents aren't flood protected

York residents aren't flood protected

5:44am 17th November 2009

The Enviroment Agency is urging more people in North Yorkshire to sign up to their free flood warning scheme.

New stats show - that despite our region being one of the
main areas prone to flooding only 5% of people in York have taken precautions against the threat.

The average household could loose £28,000 through flood damage.

Meanwhile York MP Anne McIntosh is currently in Brussels for an update on how we can develop our flood protection.
