Update 2.30pm Tuesday 24 April 2012:
Police investigating a shooting incident in the Eastfield area of Scarborough have arrested a 28 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder.
He was arrested at around 1.20pm today (24th April) at an address New Queen Street along with a 51 year old man who was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Both men remain in police custody for questioning.
The 26 year old woman, who was arrested this morning on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, also remains in police custody as enquiries into the incident continue.
The 36 year old man who was injured in the incident remains in hospital where he is recovering after surgery to repair a gunshot wound to his leg. His condition is described as improving.
Police are continuing to search for the weapon which was used in the incident.

A 26 year old woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting in North Yorkshire.
She's being held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Police have been carrying out armed raids at homes across Scarborough after a man was shot in the leg there on Saturday.
A man the force were originally looking for in connection with the shooting is still on the run.
It's not believed he's a danger to anyone else.

The search for the suspected gunman in North Yorkshire is in its third day.
Armed police are continuing house to house searches across Scarborough.
Officers say they know who the suspect is and don't think he poses a risk to the public.

Update 11.40pm Tuesday 24 April 2012: Detectives investigating a shooting incident in the Eastfield area of Scarborough have today (24 April 2012) arrested a 26- year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
The woman was arrested by officers at an address on Seamer Road at around 8.40am and remains in police custody for questioning.
The 36-year-old man who was injured in the incident remains in hospital where he is recovering after surgery to repair a gunshot wound to his leg. His condition is described as improving.
A man who police have been looking for in connection with the incident remains outstanding and extensive enquiries are ongoing throughout the Scarborough area to trace him.
Officers have increased patrols in the Eastfield area to offer reassurance to local residents.
Police are still appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Update 4.05pm Monday 23 April 2012: Police in Scarborough are continuing to search for a man in connection with a shooting incident in Eastfield.The 36-year-old man who was injured in the incident remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Inspector Leo Suret, of Eastfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
“I can assure residents that officers are doing all they can to trace the man involved in this incident.
“We don’t believe that he poses a threat to the general public but obviously it is important that we locate him as soon as possible.
“If you have any information that could help the police with the investigation please get in touch.”
Statement:North Yorkshire Police were called at around 5.30pm on Saturday 21 April 2012, after reports of a disturbance at an address in High Garth, in the Eastfield area of Scarborough.
It is believed that his injuries were sustained during a struggle with another man who has yet to be traced by police.
Officers are currently making extensive enquiries to trace the other man involved in the incident.

“This is clearly a shocking incident and one members of the local community will understandably be concerned about.
“However, I would like to reassure residents that we don’t believe there to be a threat to the wider public and we are doing everything we can to locate the other man involved in the this incident.
