York care home worker charged with assault and neglect

A York carer has been charged with the assault and neglect of an elderly woman she was meant to be looking after.
The 54 year old woman is accused of committing the crime against an 85 year old.
The victim was a resident at The Lodge in Heslington.
North Yorkshire Police Statement:
York police have charged a care home worker with the assault and neglect of an elderly woman in her care.
The 54-year-old woman is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 May 2012 charged with assault by beating and wilfully neglecting a person without capacity (under the Mental Capacity Act 2005) on 29 December 2011.
The victim, aged 85, is a resident at The Lodge in Heslington.
