Fire at old Terry's Factory in York

There's been a fire at the old Terry's Chocolate factory in York.

It happened in the roof at about 7.30 this morning.

The fire service aren't treating it as suspicious at the moment.

We're being told the blaze is now out.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Sevice Statement:

Time of Call: 07:28

Location: Old Terrys Factory, Bishopthorpe Road, York.

The fire service received a call to reports of a fire on the roof of the old Terrys factory this morning. On arrival crews found ducting and filer material on the roof of the building on fire. The fire was under control by 0746, and the aerial ladder platform was used to inspect the roof to check for fire spread.

The cause is believed to be accidental and crews left the scene at around 08:30.
