Family of East Yorkshire Crash Victims Pay Tribute

The family of two people who died in a crash in East Yorkshire, say their thoughts are with the family of the York woman who was also killed.

70 year old Shiela Stavert Lee died alongside Derek and 14 year old Ethan Sarkar, who were tragically killed in a road traffic collision on the A164 in East Cowick near Goole, in East Yorkshire on Saturday 07 Apri.

Derek's wife and 9 year old daughter were also seriously injured in the incident.

Today, Derek and Ethan's family issued the following statement:

"Today we are saddened and distraught with the loss of two members of our family, Derek and Ethan. We are still shocked by the nature of the incident and all our prayers and efforts are currently directed to supporting his wife and daughter make a full and speedy recovery and helping them cope with their loss. 

"Derek was a wonderful father, husband and a lively and central part of our family. Ethan was at the heart of all our lives, their loss to us is beyond belief. 

"We thank all Derek and Ethan’s friends for their kind words, thoughts and support, they mean a lot to us and we know they will be missed by all of you.

"We also understand that there is a third victim in this tragic accident and our hearts and thoughts go out to her family and friends.

"We are aware that there is media interest in the story and we ask that the family and our friends be left in peace to grieve. "Once again we thank you all for your kind messages, thoughts and prayers."
