McIntosh to meet with Chancellor over fuel prices
6:54pm 28th March 2012
Miss Anne McIntosh, MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey, is to meet with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP, over the cost of fuel in North Yorkshire.
Miss McIntosh has told Minster FM:
“I was disappointed that there was no change to fuel duty in the recent budget.”
“The high cost of fuel is having an increasingly detrimental impact on rural communities and action needs to be taken.”
“I am very grateful to the Chancellor for the meeting and I will be making the case robustly that high fuel prices are creating real difficulties for everyday motorists and businesses in North Yorkshire.”
“I will also raise the impact of quantitative easing on pensioners who have worked hard all their lives and saved, and some of the measures that were announced in the recent Budget.”
