North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision involving three vehicles near Camblesforth, in the Selby area on Saturday evening (24 March 2012).
At approximately 7.45pm on Saturday night, a white Ford Transit van was waiting to turn right on the A1041, just south-east of the junction with Barlow Common Road when a grey Skoda Fabia travelling in the same direction was in collision with the van and a black Renault Clio.
Sadly, the driver of the Skoda, a 59-year-old local man, died at the scene of the collision.
The occupants of the Renault Clio, a local man in his twenties and a woman, also in her twenties were injured in the collision and were taken to York District Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the transit van, a man from the Goole area, was also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw any of the vehicles prior to the collision to contact them.
Investigating officer, TC Gemma Wood of Tadcaster Roads Policing Unit, said:
“It is important that we gather as much information as possible about the collision, both from witnesses who saw the crash and anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to impact.“
Anyone with any information is asked to contact TC Wood at Tadcaster Roads Policing Group by ringing 101, select option 2 and ask for Gemma Wood. Or, you can email TC Wood at email@example.com
The road was closed between the junction with Chester Court Road and the Wishing Well pub roundabout on the A63, to allow collision investigators to examine the scene. The road reopened just before 3am on Sunday morning.
