Man dies after being struck by a train near York

A man has died after being hit by a train in Copmanthorpe near York.
The British Transport Police say the incident isn't being treated as suspicious at the moment.
Officers are at the scene trying to establish the man’s identity so they can tell his next of kin.
There's major rail disruption because of the incident.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said:
“BTP officers were called to the line close to Ploughman’s Close, Copmanthorpe, York, on Wednesday, 29 February following a report of a man being struck by a train.
“BTP and North Yorkshire Police officers attended the incident which was reported to police at 8.50am.
“Paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended the incident, which is currently being treated as non-suspicious, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently at the scene and enquiries are on-going to establish the man’s identity and inform his next of kin.”
The train involved was the 6.30am Birmingham to Newcastle service.
