There been a serious crash on the A64 near Malton.
The Air Ambulance is on route (accurate at 3pm on Tuesday 21st February 2012)
North Yorkshire Police have told Minster FM a lorry has hit a pillar on a bridge near Golden Hill.
The driver is seriously hurt and will be airlifted away from the scene.
The road is expected to be shut for up to 4 hours (until 7pm).
The Eastbound carriageway will be closed whilst the Air Ambulance is there.

The A64 westbound carriageway has been closed following a serious collision involving a lorry which has collided with a bridge.
The collision was reported at 2.25pm today, Tuesday 21 February 2012 and occurred approximately two miles west of Malton on the west-bound carriageway.
The driver of the lorry was injured in the collision and the east-bound carriageway has been temporarily closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
The west bound carriageway is closed to allow recovery of the casualty and vehicle and to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.
Any witnesses are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
